The Art of Setting Limits with Your Neurodivergent Child

Setting limits with a neurodivergent child can be tricky. What overwhelms them may be hard to predict, they may experience anxiety about daily tasks that you can’t just skip, or you may feel you are setting too many limits with your ADHD child who is often engaging in risk-taking behaviors.

In this workshop you will learn:

  • Why setting limits and defining boundaries are important
  • The science behind rewards, consequences, and punishments
  • The power and importance of extrinsic motivation and intrinsic motivation from a neuro-affirming lens
  • The emotional cycle kids go through when being told “no” and helping them recover emotionally while still feeling loved and supported
  • The difference between giving consequences and coaching your child to use more effective coping strategies
